$140 per 50-minute session
Payment is expected at the close of each therapy session. I accept cash, check and major credit cards. Once you are an active client, you will be able to make payments online through the Client Portal.
If for some reason it is not possible to pay for services at the time of your appointment, please discuss your situation with me prior to your next scheduled appointment.
Currently, I accept the following insurance:
- American Behavioral
- Beacon Health Options - Emblem, NY Empire, ValueOptions, MVP and IPA
- Independent Health
- Univera Healthcare
Important Note: If I do not have the ability to bill your insurance, either right now or on an ongoing basis, you may have "Out of Network" benefits which allows you to receive reimbursement for the cost of treatment from 30-100% after the deductible. If you would like to utilize these benefits, please let me know and I will provide you with the documentation that you will need to pursue reimbursement. Also, I will provide you with information about "Better" - a company which can assist you with filing for out-of-pocket expenses.
When I accept insurance, I will ask you to contact your insurance company to learn about your specific mental health benefits. You will need to check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:
- Do I have mental health insurance benefits (sometimes called behavioral health benefits)?
- What is my deductible and has it been met?
- What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
- What is my co-pay for each therapy session?
- How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
- Is approval required from my primary care physician.
Please remember that if you choose to use insurance benefits, I will be required to assign you a psychiatric diagnosis code. This also may or may not be the case when you use out-of-network benefits. It is important for you to know that, when a diagnosis code is submitted to the insurance company, it does become part of your health care record.
Please make every effort to give me at least 24 hours advance notice if you need to miss an appointment. Unfortunately, if you do not give this advance notice, I will need to charge you the full cost of the session. Since insurance will not cover the costs of missed appointments, you will always be responsible for this charge.
In the case of inclement weather, your safety will always come first to me and the late cancellation charge will not be made. I do still ask that you contact me by 8:00 a.m. the day of your scheduled appointment.
If there are ever any problems with any financial issues, including my billing practices or your insurance coverage, please bring them to my attention as soon as possible. These issues can interfere with our relationship and your progress in therapy so we need to attend to them as openly and as quickly as possible.
